The Fiji men’s cricket side will join Vanuatu in representing the East-Asia Pacific region to the World Cricket League Division 6 competition.

This after the national side defeated Samoa in the final of the EAP qualifiers in Australia yesterday.

Fiji opted to field first and dismissed Samoa for 73 runs in 23.5 overs.

Captain Joe Rika once again led by example teaming up with Giles Smith to record his second –half century in as many days.

Fiji went on to win the fixture by nine wickets in only 9.5 overs.

Rika commended the player’s efforts the remarkable achievement and says this paves the way for greater things in terms of cricket in Fiji.
The team will return to Fiji today.
