Fiji thrash Cook Islands at Oceania 7's

TFL Fijian captain Ana Maria Roqica scored three tries to help her team thrash Cook Islands 48-nil in their first match at the Oceania 7’s in New Zealand.

Fiji outscored the Cooks 8 tries to nil.

The Fijians led 21-nil at the break.

The side’s next match is against Tonga at 3.34pm after which they play Samoa at 6.10pm.

In other matches, Samoa defeated Tonga 35-0 while Papua New Guinea lost to the Cook Islands 29-7.

In the men’s competition Australia has made a flying start with a 62-nil drubbing of Nauru in their first match.

Papua New Guinea defeated American Samoa 47-nil while Samoa accounted for Solomon Islands 48-nil.

In an exhibition match, the New Zealand Development side defeated Auckland 31-12.
