Fiji Secondary School Hockey starts this afternoon

The Fiji Secondary School Hockey Super 8 National Finals will kick off this afternoon at the National Hockey Centre.

The competition will see teams from Suva, the West and Ovalau competing from today till Wednesday.

Fiji Secondary School Hockey Association President Immanuel Prasad says competition this year will be interesting as teams from the west and Ovalau will be out to dethrone last year’s champions.

“In Suva the team to watch out probably in the girls division is St Joseph secondary school and also Suva Grammar and Marist Brothers. In Ovalau the results are quite mixed and both St Johns collage and Levuka public school are doing quite well.”

Prasad says 8 teams are participating in each grade in the Under 16 Boy’s and Girl’s and the Under 19 Boy’s and Girl’s divisions.

All matches will begin at 1pm at the National Hockey Centre.
