Fiji’s dreams of playing at the 2014 football World Cup remains a dream after a 1-1 draw with PNG this afternoon.
This has eliminated the side from the OFC World Cup play-offs in the Solomon Islands.
Fiji led from the 14th minute of play through a header from Maciu Dunadamu to lead 1-0 at the break.
However, PNG’s Kema Jack scored the crucial equaliser in the 85th minute, which ended Fiji’s hopes.
The final Group B match saw New Zealand draw 1-all with Solomon Islands.
The hosts are the fourth team to qualify for the semi-finals on Friday.
Tahiti, New Caledonia, New Zealand and the Solomon Islands are now through to the next stage of the World Cup qualifiers.
