Cricket Fiji to select final team tomorrow

Cricket Fiji will be selecting its final squad for the ICC World Twenty20 East Asia Pacific Sub Regional Qualifier after the completion of the National Championship currently underway at Albert Park in Suva.

The national selectors hope to rope in new talents from the four teams taking part in the championship.

Tournament Director, Ponijese Saulekaleka, says the standard of cricket has improved and the players are also vying for a spot in the final team.

“The tournament for the 3 days is to select the cream of cricket players for Fiji to take part in the subregional world cup qualifier in August we will be having a full rehearsal for what’s going to happen in August for the 3 days and we will try to provide everything for the tournament that will be happening on the 3 days”.

Meanwhile, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Vanuatu will be part of the qualifiers which will be held from the 25th to 30th of August at Albert Park.
