The new players in the Fiji Pearls netball squad to take part in the Digicel Punjas International Series this weekend will become better players for their experience.

This is the view of national netball coach, Kate Carpenter after naming a 22-member squad to take on Singapore and Papua New Guinea.

The new group of players were named from the Digicel Punjas National Series which is held weekly at the Multipurpose Courts in Lautoka.

“So there have been players that have performed well so they have been invited to participate in the series, not as Pearl athletes but as NSL athletes to get a taste of the environment, reflect on it and see where they need to go and what direction they need to take if the national team is what their goal is.”

The Digicel/Punjas International Series gets underway on Friday at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.

At 5pm, Fiji will take on PNG One while Singapore takes on PNG Two at 7pm.
