“One of the biggest news here in Happy Valley is that Fiji team coach Alivereti Dere is being assisted by his former team mate Tomasi Cama in devising the best game plan to reign supreme for the first time since 2009.”

“They have been joined by assistant mentor Etuate Waqa, who arrived yesterday. Joining him were more than 50 supporters from Fiji who lit up the Air Pacific flight from Nadi with their chants and cheers.”

“Dere has named a strong team with skipper Setefano Cakau, Nemani Nagusa and Waisea Nayacaleu in the forwards.”

“Nikola Matawalu takes over at halfback, impressive Metuisela Tablebula is at playmaker, Joeli Lutumailagi at rover and Isikeli Vuruna out on the wing.”

“Fiji has been tagged as one of the top bets by all pundits in HK but the coaching staff remain wary of the tag and say they will take one game at a time.”

“Also news coming out of here overnight is that New Zealand have lost one of their key players in Lote Raikabula through injury and this is a major blow for the defending champs.”

“Already without the likes of Frank Halai, Solomon King and Toby Arnold, Raikabula’s absence will surely affect the Kiwis chances.”

“Raikabula has been replaced by debutant Jack Wilson.”

“This starts with the Fiji-Scotland match at 9.06pm followed by the Samoa-Kenya match at 9.50pm.”

“There will also be live commentaries of the last three pool games of day one between Australia-France, South Africa-Wales ad England vs Argentina.”
