Ba first to make IDC premier semi-final

Ba is the first team to qualify for the semi-final of the Courts Inter District championships being played at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The side beat Rewa 2-1 tonight.

Maveliko Nakama and Sitiveni Cavuilagi scored for Ba while Gabrielle Matanisiga scored for the Delta Tigers.

The result sees Ba on six points in Group B, Rewa on three while Labasa and Dreketi are on a point each.

Rewa will need a draw against Labasa tomorrow to accompany Ba.

Labasa and Dreketi, which plays Ba will need to win to pose a challenge.

In Pool A, Lautoka after being held 1-all by Tavua today is on four points, Suva is on three, Tavua has two points, while Nadi has a point.

Suva, which beat Nadi 3-0 will be wary of Tavua when the two meet as the winner will make the last four.

Suva technical advisor, Ajnesh Prasad says they are wary of Tavua.

“We will go back we will regroup and make sure the boys recover well and we will sit down with the coach because we cant take Tavua lightly. We need tow in that game to confirm ourselves a place in the semi-final.”

Suva meets Tavua at 2pm tomorrow, while Ba and Dreketi clash at 4pm, followed by the Labasa Rewa match at 6pm before Lautoka battles Nadi at 8pm.

In the senior grade, apart from Nadroga, no other team has qualified for the last four.

The other three teams will be known after the last round of matches tomorrow afternoon.

In the 10am matches, Rakiraki meets Lami, while Savusavu battles Nadroga.

At midday, Navua meets Seaqaqa, while Tailevu Naitasiri plays Nadogo.
