Athletics boss visits Fiji

April 29, 2013 12:27 am

The President of the IAAF – the parent body of World Athletics – makes his first visit to Fiji.

Lamine Diack arrives tomorrow morning and is here to open the Oceania Athletics Association (OAA) Council Meeting in Nadi, which starts on Thursday.
The Oceania Congress and associated seminars will be attended by representatives from twenty different countries.

Athletics Fiji’s Albert Miller says it’s timely that Diack visits Fiji especially when the new National Stadium is about to be opened and inaugurated with the Fiji Games competition, and the Coca Cola Games in the following week.

He says the new facility should become a beacon for regional and international competition.
