Basketball Fiji has received $6000 worth of basketball equipment to cater for the Under 19 FIBA Oceania championships in Suva next week.
Basketball Fiji Secretary General, Ned Taito says the equipment includes promotional goods, training and match balls, running shoes, flags and equipment for officials.
“The equipment is actually going to be used in the tournament and it’s going to be used in the lead up for the tournament with teams getting access to the balls for the sizes 6 and 7 to be used in their training practice.”
The 2014 FIBA–USP under 19 Oceania Championships will be held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva on December 1st to the 6th.
The Fiji men’s and women’s under 19 sides will compete against teams such as Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, New Caledonia and Papua New Guinea to qualify for a place in the 2015 FIBA Under 19 World Championship.
