The Fiji National University is pushing to enroll more female students to help drive technological development.
FNU’s Vice-Chancellor Nigel Healey says they want to ensure that women are part of the driving force in the engineering and science fields.
“Some of the innovations in science and technology that are taking place at the university and it’s part of the wider drive. We are trying to support and really raising the profile of the so-called stem subjects science, technology, engineering, mathematics in Fiji and particularly to attract more girls and women into these subjects.”
He adds they’re also encouraging women to help raise the profile of certain male-dominated subjects and make their mark known in various fields.
