The Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji is calling on all small boat operators and mariners to stay well clear of the sunken ship MV Suilven.

The coordinates for the ship is 18o 08.433’S and 178o 23.69’E.

The area will be under surveillance by Fiji Navy, Fiji Ports Corporation Limited, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and MSAF.

The wreck has been temporarily marked with a quick flashing white light.

The MV Suilven sunk in the Suva Harbor yesterday afternoon after34 crew and staff was safely rescued.

MSAF is conducting an investigation into the incident and has issued a notice that the entrance to Suva Harbour is safe and clear for transiting ships.
