Vuniwaqa visits Golden Age Home

Fifty-eight senior citizens of the Golden Age Home in Samabula, Suva were treated to a special Christmas party by Minister for Women and Children, Mereseini Vuniwaqa yesterday.
Vuniwaqa says this was a little something that the Government wanted to share with the residents, to remind them that they are still cared for in society.
Resident, 102-year-old Benina Ciriavesi who hails from Gau Island in Lomaiviti, says she is thankful to the government of the day for treating them like family.
The Golden Age Home longest serving board member, Dr Salesi Savou says the evet was breath of fresh air and they’re getting the full attention and technical support they need.
The Minister was accompanied by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary Dr Joseva Koroivueta.
The visit was part of ministry’s vision of empowering the disadvantaged and women.
