Vuniwaqa not aware of Viti Landowners and Resource Association

July 12, 2016 5:48 am

Lands Minister Mereseini Vuniwaqa says she is not aware of any group called the Viti Landowners and Resource Association.

Vuniwaqa confirmed this to FBC News after questions were sent to the Minister about the so-called group’s re-emergence.

This comes after claims were made by the Association that they have bought land from government for development purposes.

Vuniwaqa says there is government owned land that is for sale but so far the government hasn’t done any dealings with the VLRA.

Meanwhile VLRA President Joji Rokosuka claims they have already bought a crown land which will be used for Itaukei development.

This is a second move by the association to undertake a big development project, the first being a fraudulent scheme in 2007 with a certain foreign investor who was willing to donate a US six billion dollars to establish a indigenously-operated banking enterprise in Fiji.
