Despite having the largest land mass from all the four divisions, the Northern division faces considerable development challenges.

With the recent celebration of USP’s 50th year of operation, Commissioner Northern Jovesa Vocea says USP has the capacity to offer its expertise to assist the government machinery in Vanua Levu.

Vocea says the government is confident USP Labasa will use it depth of experience to help assist in developing the people in the North.

“USP might be able to support the office of the Commissioner Northern division in the area of climate change and substantial development and environment. These are areas that will be of great assistance."

Meanwhile, hundreds of high school students from around Vanua Levu turned out at the Open Day to see the different programs offered by USP to help them make an informed decision on their career choices.
