Poor road conditions will now be a thing of the past for more than 500 villagers living along Natewa West Coast Road in Vanualevu.
The Fiji Roads Authority is carrying out upgrades through Fulton Hogan Hiways on the road.
The Natewa West Coast Road is 60 kilometres away from Savusavu town and is off Buca Bay Road.
This road, according to Tabia Village Headman, Mataika Tuicakau, use to be accessible only by four wheel drives and trucks.
The upgrade includes clearing of drainage, removing of high shoulders, gravelling, grading and compacting of the road.
People from Tabia and Vunidogoloa use the road and it connects to a copra farming settlement located along the road.
