This road, according to Tabia Village Headman, Mataika Tuicakau, use to be accessible only by four wheel drives and trucks.

The upgrade includes clearing of drainage, removing of high shoulders, gravelling, grading and compacting of the road.

People from Tabia and Vunidogoloa use the road and it connects to a copra farming settlement located along the road.
