Minister for Employment Jone Usamate has urged students graduating from technical colleges in Fiji to be career focused.
Usamate says trade people are entrusted with doing what others cant do therefore, they play a key role in the development of the country.
He says people from the trade sector get things done which is critical for any industry or country.
“Keep learning, keep reading and keep learning about the new things in your industry. The technical College gives you a start, it opens up the door, how you walk through that door depends whether you keep learning and keep reading about the latest things that are happening.”
Usamate also urged them to become experts in their field of expertise and take advantage of Government grants like Young Entrepreneur Scheme.
He says they can become job creators as well, by starting their own businesses.
