Three Nabou accident victims laid to rest

Families, relatives and friends gathered this morning to bid farewell to Sanaila Ruitoka, Atilai Ruitoka and Marika Ravui who died from the horrific Nabou road accident in Sigatoka last Saturday.

In a solemn service at Yavusania Village in Nadi this morning, the lives of the three were reflected upon by those who knew them.

During his eulogy, Noa Misimisi a relative of Atilai Ruitoka says Atilai was a cheerful person and was loved by everyone.

Alumeci Raratabu, a teacher at Ratu Navula College shared how Year 10 student Marika Ravui wanted to be part of the school hostel.

“So I asked Marika to join us at a small quarters with the rest of the boys so that I can house him as long as there is a place in the hostel..my deepest regret was that I let him go I should have maintained him.”

Mereoni Qaranivalu, a colleague of Sanaila Ruitoka spoke highly of his work ethics.

“Sanaila’s upbringing from home reflected a lot in his work. He always was exemplary at work. He always listened and never at once spoke back to his managers.”

The three men were buried in Yavusania village today.
