A woman from Koro Island has become the latest victim of Tropical Cyclone Winston bringing the death toll to 44.

This was confirmed by the National Disaster Management Office director Akapusi Tuifagalele.

He says the woman had been hospitalized for a while and NDMO received confirmation of her death last night.

Tuifagalele says he does not have the details on her cause of death or the type of injuries she sustained during the cyclone.

Meanwhile the number of evacuation centers around the country has decreased to 476 with 14,799 evacuees.
