Commissioner Central Meleti Bainimarama says the rural development ministry has allocated about $130,000 for development programmes in Tailevu.

‘’That budget is for the programs that I’ve outlined earlier the ones for self help, non- cane access, rural housing assistance’’.

The Korean-owned Grace Food Express Company which is based in Serua has expressed interest in developing rice farming.

‘’We hope to get them land in the north of Tailevu with leases expiring to run this program of rice replanting – rice revitalization’’.
