Air Terminal Services Limited CEO Hare Mani says they have security and surveillance in place to ensure people’s luggage are safe at the Nadi International Airport.

In light of the recent report of the alleged theft of some of the items of the Russia 7s team a week ago at Nadi Airport, Mani told FBC News, that thorough checks have been conducted by Police on the staff of ATS.

“The Fiji Airports Limited and Police carried out searches on all our lockers at the air site and also on Fiji Link. They said on Wednesday they done their searches in Nadi and found nothing. They will continue with their search in Nausori.”

When questioned if stealing was an issue at ATS, Mani stresses they have adequate security.

He says that it’s also very difficult for these issues to happen, as the timeframe for any luggage to travel from one point to another takes less than an hour.

Mani also says that other staff are also present around these areas.

Meanwhile, Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says they are still investigating the matter.
