Senior Government driver granted bail

A senior Government driver charged with a count of dangerous driving occasioning bodily harm, one count of failing to stop when required to do so by police and one count of resisting to undergo a breathalyser test has been released on bail this afternoon.

52-year-old, Jese Bauli, appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court, after being taken into custody yesterday.

He is also charged with one count each of serious assault and resisting arrest.

Bauli, who is also a military officer by profession, is alleged to be under the influence of alcohol when he was stopped by the officers along McGregor Road in Suva yesterday.

He has been granted bail with one surety for the sum of two thousand dollars and the case has been adjourned to February 27th.
