The senior staff of the Agriculture Ministry have been urged to make meaningful contributions during the workshop that is underway in Nadi.

This was stressed by Deputy Secretary Corporate Services and Planning, Vatimi Rayalu who says the staff also need to implement the outcomes of the Strategic Development Plan workshop.

Rayalu says the formulating of the Strategic Development Plan is important.

He says no one should be here at the workshop just to make up the numbers.

“There have been a lot of workshops where we have come here eat and drink grog go back and forget what we talked about that is not going to happen under my watch. I have already briefed the Secretariat yesterday before we came and that is I don’t want anybody to sleep on the job. Everyone must stay awake and we must see this plan through.”

Rayalu also says many times, once a strategic plan is formulated, they are usually shelved.

He says the plan is their future which they will need to work on and also implement.
