Simpson warns overloaded buses threaten road safety and are contributing to many fatal accidents on our roads.

He says the overloaded bus will not only put the driver at risk but also passengers and other road users.

The chief executive says by overloading the bus, companies incur higher maintenance costs and higher fuel consumption.

He warns LTA enforcement officers will be checking for overloaded buses and will issue TINS to drivers and the vehicle owners resulting in significant financial penalties for both.
