The Bilibili race will also be one of the features of the Rewa Festival that is scheduled to begin this Thursday.
Rewa Care, coordinator, Josefa Vesikara says this is to help reduce river pollution that’s affecting food sources in the country’s widest river.
“Climate Change, deteriorating ecosystem, food security, limited land and surrounds on Fiji’s biggest river is quite troubling. Therefore, we believe the Bilibili Race is very important, as it sets a platform for advocating. We want to build awareness and remind the people who live beside the Rewa River to stop dumping rubbish in the river.”
The three days festival will begin with the cleaning up of the Rewa River.
The festival will also focus on the improvement of livelihood opportunities and provide decent income for families
