The TISI Sangam members during its annual convention have decided to build a retirement home for the elderly.
TISI president – Sada Siwan Naicker says it will be one of their major projects for this year.
Naicker says the decision was made at its last Council meeting, and during the annual convention the idea was agreed upon by all.
“This project is coming very near – we already got the concept plan drawn by two companies and what this convention has given – it has given us a chance to interact and talk to a lot of our people in overseas to take more ideas about this and their suggestions and also their contributions.”
Naicker says they are hopeful local businesses and the government will support this initiative.
The retirement home will be built at Nawai in Nadi, where the organsiation has a 45 acre freehold land.
