REALB hopes for consumer protection initiatives

In order to the safeguard home buyers and sellers, the Real Estate Agents licensing board is hoping the 2017/2018 National Budget will introduce consumer protection initiatives.

Board Chair, Dr Abdul Hassan says too often in the past, some home buyers have been tricked into paying too much for a property.

“The real estate industry need assist in the area of the training particularly for the real estate agents and the review of the current laws. We are in the process of formatting a policy, where the property transaction should remain transparent to the public.”

Dr Hassan says this policy will also assist in ending the malpractices associated with the industry.

The 2017/2018 National Budget will be announced next Thursday from 7.30pm and you can watch it live on FBC TV.
