SODELPA President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu is appealing for the release the sedition suspects currently in remand in Ra and Nadroga.
In a statement, the suspended MP says the sedition suspects are " law abiding citizens and have yet to be served full disclosures, thus making their remand an inhumane act and a breech to their fundamental human right.”
In the same breath, the Tui Cakau also sought a direct symposium with Bainimarama to discuss issues of discomfort challenging Indigenous Fijians like native lands, the Great Council of Chiefs and resources such as mining and qoliqoli.
This afternoon, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama told FBC News he is aware of the statement and will provide a response when it’s ready.
SODELPA Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa says she will not comment as she is not aware of the statement from Ratu Naiqama.
