Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says opposition politicians who use indigenous rights for wrong reasons need to stop.

However, Social Democratic Liberal Party leader Sitiveni Rabuka has hit back saying the PM is not aware of what is being said.

Bainimarama claims opposition politicians are lying about indigenous rights.

The PM says the opposition politicians are continuously claiming that indigenous rights in Fiji are under attack.

“Who are they hoping to fool, do they really thing that Fijians will have something to go for, the same lies failed them back in 2014 and it will fail them again in the upcoming election and i can only hope that one that happens will move away from this old gang of politicians.”

Rabuka claims the downfall of indigenous rights is a reality.

“He does not know what he’s talking about, the indigenous rights of the indigenous people of Fiji has been assaulted badly and have been affected badly and eroded badly.”

Bainimarama says these comments are unacceptable and the government is levelling the playing field across Fiji’s society, giving every Fijian equal access to prosperity.
