Two officers from the Fiji Corrections Services appeared in the Suva High Court today charged with rape.

Meli Vatureba and Nasoni Raburau allegedly raped a 24-year-old woman who was also their workmate on the 25th of last month.

The court heard that the State needs more time to file information and disclosures and seven more days to respond.

Vatureba is represented by lawyer, Barbara Malimali while Raburau is represented by a Legal Aid counsel.

Presiding Judge, Justice Vincent Perera will hear Vatureba’s bail application next Monday.

Both officers are remanded in custody.
