Police warns marijuana cultivators

The Police Force has issued a stern warning to marijuana cultivators to stop this illegal act.

Police Chief of Operations, ACP Rusiate Tudravu says the Force has invested in new technologies and a new approach to ensure illegal cultivators are being hunted down and taken to task.

”Don’t try to undermine the police intelligence here, we have done it in the past, we are going ahead here, we are using all the manpower that we have, we are using all the intelligence unit and the information unit that we have we are going through the Duavata Community Policing to get the backing and the support from the members of the communities, Right now, we are using the capabilities which is the helicopter just to show to the members of the community that we are really serious about our fight against drugs.”

ACP Tudravu says walking along terrains that were usually done by police officers to identify marijuana farms will be no more as the use of helicopters will ease the work.

The Force recently launched the use of new technologies to help the fight against drugs.
