The Fiji Police Force is expected to receive thirty new vehicles by the end of this week or by early next week.
This has been confirmed by Acting Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho following a meeting with the Defence Minister today.
Brigadier General Qiliho says this was one of the main issues they discussed and hope to receive it soon.
The Acting Police Commissioner had also revealed that there are 157 vehicles that are currently in running conditions.
Earlier this month, Defence Minister Timoci Natuva promised new vehicles for the Fiji Police Force to assist with Police operations on a short term.
Natuva says that one of the biggest challenges in terms of police operations is a shortage of vehicles available for running of the Forces day to day work.
