The Fiji Police Force will ensure school children are safe during the school holidays.

Chief of Operations – ACP Rusiate Tudravu told FBC News they will closely monitor internet shops and night clubs.

Tudravu says police presence will also be beefed up to ensure students stay out of trouble.

_"Am requesting all parents and guardians to look after their children well as we approach the holidays and the coming Christmas and new year .Police officers will be around and assist in the effort that we are trying to do of these sexual assault against our children and our women."

Tudravu also confirms there will be awareness programmes in communities and villages to prevent children from putting themselves in dangerous situations.
