An assistant superintendent of police who allegedly solicited money from a woman and promised to release her husband from custody will take a plea when she appears in court next Wednesday.
Rehana Rubeena Nisha Sen allegedly without lawful authority or reasonable excuse solicited an advantage of $3000 from Praveena Devi between September 30th and October 3rd this year.
Sen allegedly released Devi’s husband, Atunaisa Muliaceva from police custody without being charged.
Muliaceva was taken into custody after he was found heavily drunk.
A statement from the Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption said Muliaceva gave a false name to police.
He was then arrested for giving false information.
Sen is alleged to have contacted Devi from October 1st soliciting money from the couple.
FICAC investigated Sen.
