Police issues FTUC permit for March

Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho has this hour confirmed that a permit has been issued to the Fiji Trades Union Congress for their proposed march in Nadi town on Saturday.

Qiliho says FTUC General Secretary Felix Anthony met with Divisional Police Commander West SSP Abdul Khan in Lautoka this morning where he signed the permit.

Qiliho adds there was fruitful discussions with the FTUC General Secretary where he was also advised about the conditions of the permit and the responsibilities it comes with it.

Qiliho says they’re looking forward to working together with the FTUC to ensure Saturday’s march is incident free and he will be visiting the west tomorrow to hold more discussions.

The march has been organized by the FTUC at 10am on Saturday in Nadi in support of the Air Terminal Services workers on strike.
