Littering remains a concern for them says Fisheries Minister, Semi Koroilavesau.

Koroilavesau says this is evident in Suva, particularly from the Bowling Club to the National Stadium.

He says people need to change their mind-set and treat the environment with care.

“I mean you just have to follow a public bus or a private vehicle to see the amount of plastic that comes out the window. Public awareness is so important for people to understand.”

Koroilavesau says his Ministry is spearheading the campaign of cleaning areas that are widely polluted.

He adds they have also created a program to clean beaches around the country.
