People from all walks of life have gathered at Albert Park in Suva this morning to mark Fiji’s 49^th year of independence.

The historic day is being commemorated by thousands of Fijians around the country.

At Albert Park, people witnessed a presidential salute with President Major General Ret’d Jioji Konrote reviewing the parade

The Fiji’s Armed Forces also took part in a March pass followed by a 21 gun salute by RFMF officers.

Meanwhile, it was a sea of blue in Labasa as people marched through town to Subrail Park.

Fiji Day Celebrations were also held in Lautoka and Levuka this morning.
