Officers reminded of role

October 5, 2015 11:19 pm

Police Commissioner Major General Ben Groenewald says he is concerned with the level of service delivery rendered by his officers.

Groenewald says if there was a survey on how the public perceive police service delivery, less than 50% of Fiji’s population would find it desirable.

The Commissioner was speaking to investigators during the opening of Level 2 Investigators Course at the Fiji Police Academy in Nasova yesterday.

He says the Force needs adequate resources to perform its duties, but officers must not make that an excuse to not serve people.

The twenty five participants taking part in the five week course include police officers, officers from the Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.

The course is aimed at improving the standard of investigations.
