NZ committed to addressing climate change: Curr

The New Zealand Government is committed to addressing climate change issues in the Pacific by providing funding to the region.

Yesterday, New Zealand gave a funding of $3.6million dollars towards Fiji’s COP23 Presidency.

New Zealand High Commissioner to Fiji Jonathan Curr says the NZ government over the years has financially aided the Pacific island countries on numerous occasions.

“This additional contribution is also a mark of tremendous confidence and the exemplary leadership that Fiji has provided for the COP 23 presidency and for climate change issues, not just regionally but also globally.”_

Curr says such funding reflects the importance and commitment of the NZ government towards climate change mitigation in the Pacific region.
