New coaches hailed by the land transport authority

The Raiwaqa buses have bought two new coaches much to the delight of the Land Transport Authority.

The coaches cost around 400 thousand dollars from China.

LTA Chief Executive Officer Naisa Tuinaceva says, bus companies are slowly realizing the bench mark set that demands for safer buses.

“This is what we’re talking about we’ve been encouraging bus operators through our consultation with the Fiji bus operation as we’ve been talking about how can they continue to upgrade their fleet..this is a re-fleeting exercise for this particular company..they’ve really done good from when they actually started of the phasing out of old buses and replacing of these new buses ..its not only new they are of best standard that we can talk about from china and we know they are of best standard comply to good international standards”.

Raiwaqa Buses owner Ashok Kumar says, they now have three air-conditioned coaches and has plans to bring in more new buses.

“My intention is to change all my fleets and get a better service for this country and give a better service for the public of raiwaqa and the public of Fiji and this is the first in history the first government to give the opportunity to bring the new buses from abroad."
