The National Council for Persons with Disabilities will ensure opportunities for employment and advancement are not prejudiced by a disability.
Citizens Constitutional Forum, Chief Executive Bulutani Mataitawakilai who overcame his speech impairment, says NCPD focuses on empowering persons with disabilities for an inclusive, equitable and sustainable development.
Mataitawakilai says despite having disabilities, people should focus on being positive.
“There is no disability we have abilities, people have proven that those with disabilities can come up with greater things let alone the positions and qualifications.”
Meanwhile, NCPD together with the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation has launched a legislation to provide for the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities.
