Villagers of Ucunivanua Verata in Tailevu are preparing for the worst as they are anticipating TC Ana to bring with it heavy rain and strong winds.

Villager Leva Tuibua says they were brief by the Turaga ni Koro on the need to be cyclone ready.

Tuibua says most families living near the coastal areas have moved to safety as they are also expecting storm surge.

Rain is currently being experienced in the village with heavy swells.

Two evacuation centres in the village have been activated as they prepare for Tropical Cyclone Ana.
