Move to higher ground

People residing near the Wainimala, Wainibuka, Waidina and Rewa River are advised to move to higher grounds as a flood warning remains in place for these areas.

This includes all those living in the low-lying areas of Nausori and the Rewa River delta.

The flood warning is also for the low lying areas of Navua and the areas adjacent to the whole of Navua River.

Latest readings from Rewa River shows the water level is still rising.

The Navua River is one metre above critical level and stands at 3.5 metres with the river level still rising.

The water levels continue to rise in the Wainibuka River.

Waidina River is still rising with water levels now at 5.5 metres and half a metre above the critical level.

The next high tide is at 10.30am – which will be at a height of 1.6 metres.
