The Multinational Observer Group met leaders and representatives of five political parties yesterday.
Observer Coordinator, Alice Cawte says the MOG placed a high priority on speaking with all of Fiji’s political parties.
The meeting allowed the MOG to explain its role in observing the 2018 Election and to hear the views of all the parties on a range of issues.
The party leaders outlined their views on a number of electoral processes and issues.
Cawte says the leaders also hoped there will be an opportunity for further exchanges with the MOG.
Attendees included the leaders of Fiji Labour Party Mahendra Chaudry, Freedom Alliance Party, Jagath Karunaratne, HOPE Tupou Draunidalo, SODELPA Sitiveni Rabuka, and Unity Fiji Savenaca Narube.
She says the MOG is consulting widely and will be observing key election processes over the weeks ahead.
