Military questions 1997 constitution talks

June 19, 2012 1:06 am

The Military says it’s baffled why some political leaders are talking about bringing back the 1997 Constitution.

Land Force Commander Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga says the 1997 constitution has been abrogated and should no longer be part of talks

“I am not sure why they continue to go back to the 1997 constitution but perhaps the only explanation to that is that the 1997 constitution provides for them their political parties gain.”

Tikoitoga says people must only focus on working towards putting together a new constitution.
