May 7, 2012 4:06 am

The Methodist church relief assistance fund to assist those affected by the recent floods in the Western division is still open and will close at the end of this month.

Deputy Church general secretary Reverend Tevita Nawadra says a number of their divisions in the north and some in the central and Eastern division have requested that the due date for collection be moved.

A memo was sent out from the Methodist Church headquarters in Suva this week for all heads of Methodist Church circuits to set aside money collected two Sunday’s ago to be donated to those affected by the floods.

Reverend Nawadra says they have received some contribution and are waiting for the rest.

There are a little more than 2000 Methodist registered churches in the country.
