A 44-year-old Nadi cane farmer has been imprisoned for life by the Suva High Court for murdering his 33-year-old wife.

Sailasa Mociu a father of four stabbed his wife to death in January last year at Naisaumua in Tailevu.

The Court heard that the accused suspected her wife was having extra-marital affairs and refused to listen to him when he attempted to talk to her.

The Court was told that the man released his tension by stabbing his wife to death, with the necessary intention to kill her.

Judge Justice Salesi Temo in sentencing the man said he deprived his four young children the right to be brought up by their parents and did not show remorse throughout the proceedings.

He has a non-parole period of 20 years imprisonment.
