The Health Ministry is urging the people to maintain best hygiene and sanitation practice at all times.
The call comes as twenty eight cases of typhoid were reported in the past two months.
Ministry Spokesperson Sunil Kumar says while the numbers have not increased in the past two weeks, people should maintain their cleanliness.
“The Health inspectors do go down to places from time to time and advice people on the proper use of sanitation and also highlight on hygiene. Health inspectors in their respective areas normally do these visits.”
Most of the cases of typhoid last month were reported from Wailoku outside Suva.
