The event will also raise awareness on the auto-immune disease called LUPUS and fundraise for the Lupus Foundation of Fiji (LFF).

LFF Deputy Executive Coordinator Kali Turagaiviu says Lupus is a silent killer and the high-risk group are women and girls from 14 – 45 years of age.

Turagaiviu says awareness in Vanua Levu is important because Lupus mimics other diseases and symptoms, and can be difficult to diagnose.

He along with LFF’ Executive Coordinator Una Tuitibou will be conducting awareness sessions and will be collecting data from the villages and communities in Savusavu.

Designers are donating one attire each to be auctioned for the LFF.

Turagaiviu stresses, this is a Community event and part of Daku Resort’s commitment to the community.
