Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission Director Ashwin Raj says people should choose for themselves which political party to vote for without fear.

Raj says recently on social media many posts have been made by people threatening those who have different political views.

He adds every individual who is being threatened needs to take screen shots of the evidence and file a complaint with the relevant agencies.

“Some while promoting political parties go beyond and go on and vilify, incriminate, threaten, intimidate the safety and security and sanctity of individuals who might be from an opposing political party. That too is unacceptable.”

Raj says all complaints received will be given priority and will be individually investigated.
